Topics: 1. Embedded System: Microcontroller (of your choice) – architecture, working, programming in embedded C, various protocols for interfacing with sensors, serial communication protocols, ADC, DAC, PWM, Timer, Counter, Interrupts etc. 2. Electronic Devices: a working knowledge of various ICs used in conjunction with the microcontroller. Logic Gate ICs, Voltage Regulator ICs, Power ICs, 555, Memory and types etc. 3. Sensors/Actuators: GPS, Accelerometer, Temperature Sensor, Altitude Sensor, RTC, Servo Motor Control, LEDs, Memory Card, EEPROM etc. 4. Communication: Serial and parallel communication. Types of communications – simplex, half-duplex, full duplex. RF communications and XBee communication, Antennas and types etc. 5. Soldering/Manufacturing a printed circuit board: Comfortable in working with soldering boards, PCBs etc. 6. PCB Etching ( Preferred Software- Cadsoft Eagle) 7.
