About Team Astral Officially representing University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Team Astral was formed under the guidance of Dr. Ugur Guven to participate in the Annual CanSat Competition, with Prof. Zozimus Labana as the official mentor. Since its inception, the team has put in a tremendous effort to strive for excellence in this competition.
During the journey, the team has received many comments of appreciation from mentors of CanSat, delegates from the Naval Research Laboratory (Washington D.C.) and NASA officials for reverting them with successful test results. To know more about us, click here About CanSat CompetitionThe CanSat competition is a design-build-fly competition that provides teams with an opportunity to experience the design life-cycle of an aerospace system.
CanSat now expands its wings to the electronics and automation domain. The mission and its requirements are designed to reflect various aspects of real world missions including telemetry requirements, communications, and autonomous operations. Each team is scored throughout the competition on real-world deliverables such as schedules, design review presentations, and demonstration flights. Click here to know more... |

Our AIM for MISSION 2018For the past 4 years, the team has consistently worked hard to strive for the 1st position in CANSAT. And we made it happen this year. With the competition increasing every year, from 30 team in 2013 to 100 teams this year, we have not only been working to build a system which is consistent with the requirement compliance but also performs smart logic. This year the primary agenda for working on the project is, ‘Bulls Eye’.
Astral not only has the potential to be placed at the summit of the world ranking but also the sheer dedication to outperform the competing teams in terms of meeting the requirement compliance, technical advancement and conceptual design. The past years may have shown us many pit holes in the journey, and most of them are already being sorted out to fill up from the very beginning. We, thus, look forward to building the system and testing it in various abrupt environments to not let any loop-holes for this year’s mission. With a dedicated and positive approach for CANSAT 2018, we are looking forward to nothing less than the peak of this year's rank chart. |
